Powerforce is a youth-focused health and fitness program delivered by Huon Valley PCYC, designed to support young people aged 12–25 years to become more confident and comfortable engaging in physical activity.

Over the 10-week program, participants are supported to learn how to use gym equipment safely, develop healthy exercise routines, work towards personal fitness goals and build their confidence in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

The program focuses on making physical activity accessible and enjoyable, particularly for young people who may feel unsure or uncomfortable accessing a gym independently.

Participants who complete the program receive a 12-month Huon Valley PCYC gym membership, helping them continue the healthy routines and skills they have developed beyond the program.

Who this service is for

Young people aged 12–25 years who would like support to become more active, build confidence in a gym environment and develop positive health and fitness routines. No previous gym or fitness experience is required.

How this service is delivered

• Face-to-face

  Powerforce is delivered face-to-face at Huon Valley PCYC over a 10-week program. Participants take part in supported gym and fitness sessions designed to build confidence, develop healthy routines and become more comfortable using gym equipment and facilities.
