The Life Without Barriers Youth and Family Mental Health Teams are well established in delivering high level clinical and psychosocial mental health support services across Tasmania.

The LWB #synergy Youth and Family Mental Health Service in Southern Tasmania provides intensive psychological therapeutic support and mental health case management support to young people aged 12-25 years old, and their families, with moderate/severe mental health challenges. This service is provided on an outreach basis to young people in their own communities and works closely with others involved in a young person’s support network. Referral to this service is preferred from other mental health service providers, however please contact our Senior Clinician for discussion regarding referral criteria.

The state-wide #iConnect YouthARCH is a service funded by the Tasmanian Government in the Circular Head region of North West Tasmania for young people requiring early intervention support who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. The service is funded at .6 and offers both 1-1 short term psychological intervention for young people 12-25 years old as well as community based mental health literacy and promotion programs. The service is both in-reach and some community-based supports predominantly in the Smithton region.

Who this service is for

The #synergy service is for young people aged 12-25 years old, and their families, with moderate/severe mental health challenges, offered on an outreach basis in Southern Tasmania. The service is not for young people whose level of support needs may be better met by other higher intensity services such as Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, Adult Community Mental Health Services, or by lower intensity services such as headspace or private practice. The #iConnect service YouthARCH is for young people 12-25 years old Experiencing mild to moderate early intervention support needs which can be adequately met in the scope of this service. YouthARCH is provided for young people living in the Circular Head area and can be accessed via community based planned referrals via an intake/triage process.
