The People Project

The People Project Tasmania is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality support services that make a genuine difference in people’s lives. As an NDIS-registered provider, we specialise in Support Coordination and Plan Management, offering personalised, respectful, and face-to-face support for participants and their families. We also support older Tasmanians to access aged care services, helping people navigate their options and receive the care they need to live well.

Our team helps people build the skills and confidence to understand and use their NDIS plans effectively. We support participants to connect with the right organisations, coordinate the mix of services they need, and work towards greater independence and meaningful community involvement. From navigating day-to-day supports to preparing for plan reviews, we’re here to walk alongside participants every step of the way.

In aged care, we support older Tasmanians, as well as their families and carers, to understand and access services through My Aged Care. Whether someone is exploring support for the first time or looking to make the most of their Support at Home funding, our team provides clear guidance, practical support, and ongoing assistance. We focus on making the process simple, supportive, and stress-free, with an emphasis on independence, dignity, and staying connected to community.

Through our partnership with Trilogy Care, we help people manage their Support at Home funding (formerly Home Care Packages), offering flexible, personalised options that give people more choice and control. This includes helping individuals select services and support workers that suit their needs, access more value from their funding, and get started quickly with minimal hassle.

While disability and aged care services are at the heart of what we do, The People Project also contributes to stronger health outcomes across Tasmania as a Rural Workforce Agency. We are contracted by the Australian Government to help recruit and retain GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals, particularly in rural and remote communities. This broader work supports our mission to improve the wellbeing of Tasmanians by ensuring people have access to quality providers and services across the state.

Across all areas of our organisation, our values guide us: integrity, compassion, teamwork, commitment, and respect. We believe in the right people in the right roles, in the right place, working together for a more inclusive, empowered, and healthier Tasmania.

Who this service is for

The People Project provides support for Tasmanians navigating disability and aged care services. Our team works with participants, older adults, and their families to help them understand their options, access the right supports, and stay connected to their communities.

Our services are for:

NDIS Participants – people with an active NDIS plan or those applying for one, who need support with Plan Management or Support Coordination.

Older Tasmanians – people eligible for My Aged Care services, including Support at Home (Home Care Packages)

Carers and Families – those supporting someone with disability or aged care needs who need guidance, resources, or coordination help.

Tasmanians seeking advice – anyone looking for information on disability or aged care services and supports.

Our services are for Tasmanians who need support to navigate disability or aged care systems, as well as their families and carers.

For disability support, we work with people who have an NDIS plan or are in the process of applying. This includes individuals who need help understanding their plan, connecting with providers, and coordinating the supports they need to live more independently.

For aged care, we support older Tasmanians who are eligible for, or exploring, support through My Aged Care. This includes people who have been approved for Support at Home funding (formerly Home Care Packages), are waiting for a package, or simply want guidance on what services are available to help them stay safe, well, and connected at home.

We also work closely with families, carers, and support networks, providing guidance and practical assistance to help them support their loved ones with confidence.

If you’re unsure whether you’re eligible, our team can help you understand your options and guide you through the next steps.
