Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS)

Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS) provides one-on-one outreach support to young people who have worries in their lives and would like a support worker to help them make some positive changes.

The aim of TYSS is to increase connections with education, employment, housing, and other support services, help build or repair relationships with family and friends, improve health and wellbeing, and support young people to be safe.

TYSS workers can work with family and other professionals to help young people achieve their goals, and be an advocate and case manager for the young person.

TYSS workers will help the young person to decide what goals they would like to work on, and will use different approaches depending what the young person needs.

TYSS is a voluntary service, so a young person needs to give consent to have a worker. Anyone can make a referral for themselves or for a young person they know by calling Strong Families, Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line.
