Cancer Support Groups

Support groups provide a safe place for people affected by cancer to come together, develop friendships, share ideas and thoughts in a non-judgemental environment. People develop a sense of belonging and feel comfortable enough to share their feelings with others who have had similar experiences. Groups develop a sense of community.

Support groups create a caring and supportive environment where individuals feel accepted for themselves; participants feel safe to express their true feelings without protecting others; and receive acceptance and understanding.

Cancer Council Tasmania has a range of support groups available throughout Tasmania.
