Safe Choices
The Safe Choices program is statewide initiative of the Tasmanian Family Violence Action Plan 2015- 2020 (Safe Homes, Safe Families).
Its primary focus is the improved safety of women, children and other Tasmanian community members, through the raising of community awareness around the issues of Family Violence.
Safe Choices can help by providing information about your choices and options and working alongside you, to help you choose the right path for you and your children. Your safety will be a priority.
Workers will be available by e-mail or over the phone and are ready to listen. They recognise that everyone has their own individual experience and that you know what will work best for you. Workers will work hard to provide a variety of safe options to best meet your needs.
Workers are able to provide responsive practical support, advice and referral to other services.
If you contact Safe Choices by phone or e-mail, workers will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible, however they will not be available during the evening/ night or weekends.
Safe Choices is not an emergency or crisis service, but if needed workers will refer you to the crisis service which will best meet your needs.
