Outreach Program
SnagChat, Launceston City Mission’s mobile BBQ trailer, brings smiles, support, and sausages to Launceston’s suburbs and surrounding towns. Our friendly staff and volunteers provide a free BBQ and drinks, sparking conversations with individuals, children, and families.
Utilising the delicious aroma of a cooked snag, SnagChat provides a vital lifeline with a welcoming and accepting space where people can feel they belong while enjoying good food and better company.
In addition to the immediate support of the BBQ, SnagChat also distribute emergency supplies such as blankets, clothes, and food. It also connects individuals with crucial services, creating a positive community space where people can feel they belong while enjoying good food, company, and conversation.
SnagChat regularly operates in conjunction with local organisations such as PCYC, Northern Suburbs Community Centre, local schools, George Town Neighbourhood House, City of Launceston Council, local churches, Scripture Union, Vinnies, Healthy Tasmania, local playgroups, and other community organisations.
Operating Hours and Locations:
Every Friday Night from 6:30 PM – 8 PM: SnagChat operates in Civic Square, Launceston.
