Out of Home Care Trauma Service
The Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) is an independent, not for profit children’s charity working with children and young people impacted by trauma. Our head office is in Victoria but we work across the country, including Tasmania.
Our services include specialist counselling, advocacy, training and education, & parent/caregiver support. For information relating to any of these services please contact us on 1300 381 581.
In Tasmania, we have offices in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie. We are funded by government to provide two programs.
There is an Out of Home Care program for children and young people involved with the Child Safety system. This provides support to children and their network who are involved with Child Safety.
We also have a specialist Family Violence Counselling service for children and young people impacted by Family Violence. Anyone can refer into this program.
All our work involves the provision of support to the key adults in the child or young person’s world, and can be provided in an outreach capacity.
