Getting from A to B starts with planning your journey. There are a few ways to find out which bus you need:

Metro GreenCard:

For a faster and safer travel experience with Metro, is it recommended that you obtain a GreenCard. Top it up with credit to make catching a bus easier, quicker and cheaper.

With a GreenCard, you’ll benefit with:

• 20% discount on all fares;
• transfer between buses for free within 90 minutes; and
• fares capped at low rates for all-day travel

You can set up a convenient automatic top up online, or you can add credit to your GreenCard as you need it via: the MetroTas app, at a GreenCard agent, online or on a bus (cash only).

Metro Information Hotline – available from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Hobart Metro Shop – 40 Elizabeth Street, open 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Springfield Metro Shop – 212 Main Road Moonah, open 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

Launceston Depot Office – 168 Wellington Street, open 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Burnie Depot Office – 28 Strahan Street, open 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

As of January 2023, all our buses are now completely accessible.

How this service is delivered

  • Face-to-face

    Our customer service teams in Metro Shops and depots are there to help you with all enquires related to timetables and services, lost property, compliments and complaints, feedback etc. The Metro Shop is also a GreenCard agent, allowing you to apply for a new card, replace a lost or stolen card, and top up your card quickly and easily in person.
