Meals on Wheels Tasmania
Meals on Wheels is a voluntary organisation, delivering meals to all people of all ages, who, through sickness, age and/or disability, cannot reasonably get a meal for themselves and who wish to remain with dignity and independence in their own homes.
Recipients can receive meals on a long or short term basis and delivery is up to five days per week in the larger areas. Larger regions also offer multiple meal choices and fresh meals daily.
Who this service is for
Meals on Wheels serves people of all ages needing assistance to live independently, with eligibility based on need, not means.
- Supports independent living for people of all ages.
- No means test; eligibility based on need.
- Follows HACC, CHSP, and HCP guidelines for eligibility.

We'll come to you (outreach)
We deliver meals to the homes of our clients, and provide a wellbeing check when we visit.
Please note Meals on Wheels Tasmania do not deliver in the areas of Launceston, Burnie or the West Coast. If you live in these areas the Red Cross will deliver to you. Please contact the Red Cross on 1300 663 291.
