Launceston Medicare Mental Health Centre

Launceston Medicare Mental Health Centre is a free, walk-in service that provides short- to medium-term mental health support for people over the age of 18. No appointment or referral is needed. Family and friends of people experiencing mental health concerns can also seek support from the service. Mental health trained professionals will assist individuals by providing mental health support and assistance accessing other appropriate services. Services are primarily provided face-to-face, and via telehealth if needed.

Supports available: Immediate short- to medium-term mental health support, Brief Interventions and Psychoeducation, Peer support,  Referrals, Family and Carer support.

Eligibility: No appointment or referral is needed, Launceston Medicare Mental Health Centre is a walk-in service. However, people can be referred by a GP or other support service, or by family and friends with the person’s consent.
