Gagebrook Community House (JRS)
The Gagebrook Community House is part of the Jordan River Service, which also includes Waterbridge Food Pantry in Herdsman’s Cove and the Bridgewater Community House and Jordan River Community Workshed in Bridgewater. We work in collaborative and innovative ways to Connect Community, Support People, Create Opportunities and to champion Local Leadership. We are proud members of the Tasmanian Neighbourhood House network. From our Gagebrook site/s we offer the following:
• Emergency Relief (bread only, when available)
• Access to a computer, printing, photocopying, scanning for approved purposes
• NILs applications (by appointment)
• Work For the Dole (work placement) activities
• Visiting services (enquire for more information)
• Volunteering opportunities
• Gardening activities
• Women’s Leadership LOOP
• Integrated Family Support worker
• Cooking programs
• Adjunct childcare (when attending a program at our House)
• Community-led crafts and Pingo
• Room hire
• Learner Licence Assist Program (motorbike and car test)
• A welcoming face, a cuppa and support to access other services
• Low-cost homemade frozen meals (can be purchased in person or online, deliveries available)
• Purchase eggs, fresh fruit and veggie boxes (pre-order)
• Purchase a range of homemade seasonal jams, sauces and chutneys/relishes
• Our Managers are Commissioners for Declarations and can certify your documents (by appointment)
