Energy Hardship Fund (EHF)
The EHF provides financial assistance to help with energy-related costs for people experiencing hardship, including pressures linked to rising energy prices. While the EHF may not cover the full cost of your energy bill, your service provider will support you in your situation and apply the EHF support on your behalf if eligible.
Depending on the service provider you access, you may be offered additional support, such as help with other financial pressures, referrals, or connection to other services.
Who this service is for
This service is for people in Tasmania who:
• Are experiencing financial hardship and struggling to pay energy bills

Local support through community organisations
Support is delivered through approved service providers across Tasmania, each working toward positive social outcomes by reducing disadvantage and strengthening community wellbeing.
Once you have secured your appointment, a worker will speak with you to understand your circumstances and determine whether you meet the Energy Hardship Fund (EHF) criteria. If you are eligible, they will apply the EHF assistance with your energy provider. This visit could also be a good opportunity for you to enquire about any other support you may need. -
