Dementia Australia is the source of trusted information, education, and services for the estimated 400,000 Australians living with dementia, and the more than 1.5 million people involved in their care. We advocate for positive change and support vital research. We are here to support people impacted by dementia and to enable them to live as well as possible. No matter how you are impacted by dementia or who you are, we are here for you.

Who this service is for

  • People Living with Dementia: As of 2023, an estimated 411,100 Australians are living with dementia.
  • Families and Carers: Approximately 1.7 million Australians are involved in the care of someone living with dementia.
  • Individuals with Younger Onset Dementia: In 2025, an estimated 29,000 Australians are living with younger onset dementia, diagnosed under the age of 65.
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities: According to the 2021 Census, 25% of Australians aged 30 and over who reported having dementia were born in a non-English speaking country.
  • Healthcare Professionals: Dementia Australia offers resources and training for professionals involved in diagnosing and caring for individuals with dementia.
