Counselling for veterans and their families
Veterans and their family members can receive counselling based on our Model of Care. The Model of care details goal-oriented counselling using evidence-based therapies.
Open Arms has in house clinicians and contracted outreach providers to ensure broad coverage across Tasmania and limited speciality. Our core business is to provide trauma informed care for veterans experiencing trauma related symptoms.
- We have some capacity to offer couples and family (involving children) counselling.
- One on one counselling based on agreed goals, using evidence-based approaches.
- Offices are located in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport. Visiting services to Burnie and Huonville are also available.
- Outreach providers offer service in their own practice locations.
Eligible clients can call 1800 011 046 and complete an intake to test suitability for services.
Who this service is for
Veterans who have served one day of full-time service, their partners and their children. A full list of eligibility can be viewed on the Open Arms website.

No charge for eligible clients.
