Children’s Family Violence Counselling Program (ACORN)
About
ACORN is a free children’s counselling service for anyone in Tasmania aged 5-18 years. It is for children or young people who have experienced or witnessed family violence.
Our Program can:
- Provide counselling services to children and young people
- Develop a family care plan to identify needs
- Provide case management and warm referrals to other programs and services for parents
Program Methods
- Parent intake/assessment
- Children and young person counselling 5- 18 years
- Psychoeducational (parent groups) when available
- Brief intervention model 6-12 sessions

Sessions with children are in-person only. Parent intake appointments made are held via Health Direct.
