BreastScreen Tasmania
BreastScreen Tasmania provides a free screening mammogram every two years to eligible people between the age of 50 and 74 years throughout Tasmania.
BreastScreen Tasmania is part of BreastScreen Australia – a national breast screening program that aims to continue to reduce deaths from breast cancer through early detection of the disease.
While people in the target age group are particularly encouraged to participate, all eligible people over the age of 40 years can participate in the BreastScreen program.
We have four permanent clinics in Hobart (Liverpool St), Rosny Park, Launceston, and Devonport.
For people who are unable to attend a BreastScreen Tasmania permanent clinic, we operate fully-equipped mobile screening units to extend our free breast screening service to eligible people across the state. The Ida unit has wheelchair accessibility.
