Autism Support

Giant Steps Tasmania is a not for profit, independent, specialist school and therapy center (K-12) for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and a community and access support group for adult aged clients. Giant Steps Tasmania is also a Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) Service Provider.

Our school is the only specialised school for children with autism in Tasmania. Students receive an individualised curriculum and program designed by our team in conjunction with the family and other relevant service providers. This may focus on language and reading, social skills, information and communication technology or numeracy to name a few.

Why were we established?
Giant Steps Tasmania was established in 1995 by a group of dedicated parents and local community supporters who were committed to ensuring focused and specialised education to suit the individualised needs of children with Autism Spectrum Challenges.
