Australian Red Cross TeleCHAT

Sometimes it can be difficult for people to get out to social activities and living alone means they not always have someone to talk to. TeleCHAT calls provide a connection to the community.  Friendly volunteers call participants at an agreed time, generally once a week, to share a conversation and catch up.  Participants are matched with volunteers based on their interests, hobbies and availability.

Who this service is for

This service is for people who would enjoy some social contact via the phone.  It may benefit people who:

live alone

find it difficult to get out of the house

live in a remote location

are living with a disability

There is no cost associated with this service.
