Community Kinship Engagement Program

The Community Kinship Engagement Practitioner provides a key service contact point for informal kinship carers in the south of Tasmania.

This provides carers and service providers an opportunity for assistance navigating through the service system. The practitioner can also enhance access to supports and assist informal kinship carers with advice, practical support and referrals as well as advocacy and education within government and the general community.

Community Kinship Program formally known as Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program supports informal kinship carers who have assumed the role of primary caregivers to their grandchildren (or other related children), often in difficult family circumstances.

Community Kinship Program – Baptcare

The Community Kinship program supports grandparents, relatives and non-relatives who provide informal care for young people aged 0-17.

Community Kinship is an informal arrangement (often verbal) with a young person’s grandparents, relatives or non-relatives, to care for a young person with no court order in place.

Our practitioners can support carers through the challenges of being a carer in sometimes difficult circumstances.

Provides a key service contact point for informal kinship carers to assist with advice, practical support and referrals as well as advocacy and education within government and the general community.
